About Thanh Do University

Thanh Do University (Hanoi, Vietnam) was established on May 27, 2009, evolving from Thanh Do College of Technology, the first private institution in Vietnam to offer undergraduate education, founded in 2004.
The University offers application-oriented programs in Technology, Business & Social Sciences, and Health Sciences. It is nationally accredited, ranked among the top private universities in ASEAN (AppliedHE), and holds a 3-star rating for applied education from the University Performance Metrics (UPM). It has also received a commendation from the Ministry of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements.
Today, Thanh Do University has grown into the ThadoEdu Park education ecosystem, which includes a K–9 integrated school system - UniGo; and Thadotek, the Thanh Do Investment, Trade and Development Company.
Degrees from the University are recognized nationwide and by employers. Thousands of graduates have successfully launched their careers.

2024

Successfully completed the Thanh Do University Project, celebrated the university’s 20th anniversary, and commemorated Thanh Do culture by designating May 27 as Thanh Do Family Day.

2023

Ranked among the Top 20 leading private universities in ASEAN by AppliedHE

2022

Officially joined SPARC Europe (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) as an international member; pioneered the establishment of the Journal of Science and Development.

2021

Achieved certification in accordance with the National Education Quality Accreditation Standards.

2020

Earned a 3-star rating in UPM’s application-oriented evaluation

2019

Restructured university governance; completed the development of Thanh Do’s institutional culture; Thanh Do Cultural Handbook released.

2018

Partnered with 500 Korean enterprises (K-BIZ) and became one of the first universities to guarantee job placement for graduates.

2017

Adopted blended learning, promoted research, and organized an international conference on stem cell technology from umbilical cord membranes.

2013

Expanded the university’s academic offerings and training capacity by introducing programs in Pharmacy and Nursing, establishing Thanh Do as the first private university in Vietnam to offer Health Sciences majors.

2012

Champion of Vietnam’s first Eco-Driving and Fuel Efficiency Competition; represented Vietnamese universities at the competition in Tokyo, Japan

2009

Officially established as Thanh Do University by decision of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, upgrading from Thanh Do College of Technology - marking a historic milestone in its development.

2008

Established the Thanh Do Driving Training Center – the only driving center run by a private university in Vietnam.

2006

Renamed as Thanh Do College of Technology, accompanied by expansions in institutional scale, training disciplines, and number of faculties; completed Vietnam’s first proposal to upgrade a college into a private university.

2004

Established Thanh Do Private College of Technology, the first private institution in Vietnam’s higher education system - the predecessor of Thanh Do University.
